Kroger wants to show you something! It’s new signs and new PRICES! They have ripped tons of hanging signs down across each of their 2500 stores nationwide, creating a cleaner look and showcasing the new pricing initiative!
Kroger is the second largest grocer in the United States, with stores in 31 states, and over 100 Atlanta area fuel centers. They have offered their Kroger plus card (keyfob, or credit card sized) for years, which offers a point system to shoppers to redeem for fuel discounts. Did you know you can also get 50 fuel points for a prescription? Or even gift cards?
For instance, if you’re already going to Starbucks to get yourself a treat, you might as well pick up a Starbucks gift card and earn FOUR times the fuel points. (Example: Buy a $10 gift card, and instead of earning just 10 point like you would on groceries, you earn 40 points). Christmas is just around the corner, so start stocking up on your gifts at the gift card aisle! Make sure to check your receipt when you leave, too. That survey at the bottom can be filled out for 50 fuel points up to once a week all year long! Stores will receive the anonymous feedback the very next day and strives to earn high marks from its customers, as well as to correct its mistakes.
Now, for even bigger news. I know many of you shop at Kroger just because they will double coupons… but as of September 22st, that program is ending. Kroger did a study, and only 4% of households doubled coupons, and less than 2% used more than one double coupon. Some extreme couponers will be really upset… but don’t linger. To even your “paying” field, Kroger is permanently dropping prices on over 3,000 items to help lower your costs! See the new price labels below? Once shows a new lower price, the middle shows a temporary sale price, and the third shows another version of the lower pricing structure. Look for these signs to SEE how low the pricing at Kroger is helping to replace the doubling of coupons. (And remember, you can still USE all your coupons, they just won’t double).
Besides all the great low prices Kroger is offering, I was really excited to hear about the Kroger Simple Truth store brand, an organic GMO free label, offering over 300 products, and over 500 by December 1st. Besides the Simple Truth brand, there are over 4 THOUSAND organic and GMO products available now at Kroger. That’s a lot more than other grocery stores, and they even have a dedicated Natural Market in many stores. (Truthfully, the Kroger we visited was nearly half the Natural Market, whereas my Kroger has a dinky organic section in the produce aisle. More and more stores are getting facelifts, and I have my fingers crossed that mine if one of them!). Also, make sure to take a peek at food labels that Kroger prepares. They are including more cooking directions, healthy advice and safety preparation tips on each item such a beef, and other entrees prepared for home cooking. The Simple Truth beef is wrapped in green labels with the Simple Truth logo stamped on each (seen below on left).
Looking for more green options at Kroger? Check out the new store’s earth friendly construction. Polished concrete floors require less cleaning with chemical free mopping, while LED motion activated lighting saves money and energy in the frozen food department. Even the toilets have less water flushing options.
Lastly, take to your smartphone and download the new Kroger app. You can register using your email (privacy respected) and enter your Kroger card number. Then you will be able to access MORE coupons, check on your fuel points, create your grocery list, refill prescriptions, and more. It’s time to check out your local Kroger!

I’m kind of sad about the double coupons going away. I do enjoy Kroger’s “Simple Truth” line and that they have more organic options. We use the simple truth ground turkey quite a bit, and I love using my fuel points!

Thanks – I love me some Picmonkey when I can’t choose a photo.

When I shopped, I noticed that a lot of prices were lower than they had been – and even using single coupons still helps out. We tried a bunch of Simple Truth products and they were pretty good!

You really should – hopefully you have a nice, big store that will offer you even more!

Hurray for fuel points. I save so much money this way. I’ll never forget when gas prices were low, I had a bazillion fuel points, getting me gas for under $2.00 a gallon!

Ours got a facelift a few months ago. I’m still getting used to the new layout. I’m enjoying the new prices though.
