Happy Fathers Day from all of us at the Redhead House! Red and I celebrated Hubs with a homestyle southern breakfast at a new restaurant, a dinner with Hubs’ family, lots of phone calls, cards and even a few presents! (We were so excited to give them to Daddy that I took no pictures of anything, so just use your imagination to pretend we gifted him a toilet of gold and a crown… or something more fabulous than polo shirts and handmade art…)
I got a great picture of Hubs and his little guy about to dig into some southern breakfast: sausage biscuits, mule chips (seasoned hash browns), three cheese grits, chicken and waffles! These guys are pretty handsome, if I do say so myself!!
With a little convincing from Daddy, Red decided to try a new kind of biscuit with a little local honey on it. Cautious, unsure, but trusting in the end, Red really liked it! Waffles, chicken and even some tea went down the hatch. It looks like my “starve out the picky eater” plan actually WORKED.
After a long afternoon at Hubs’ parents house, we settled back home with a nap for Daddy, lots of resting, playing and an early bedtime. We picked out a story called “Good Night Little Bear” that is about a big daddy bear putting his baby bear to bed… super cute and totally appropriate for Hubs’ day!
Not pictured? The oreo ice cream sandwiches and the Game of Thrones marathon that took place after bedtime. It’s Hubs’ most favorite show, and I’m so happy to spend a little time with my boys after that super long, super rough tech week for Spamalot! (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, catch up on my Instagram feed!)
How did you celebrate your Dad, Grandfather or Husband this weekend?
I took my hubby to Walker Stalker Con in Boston (zombies) yesterday. Glad you guys had a good day.
My hubs spent most of the day playing with the kids and coloring in with the younger ones lol. Then it was a game of football a ride out on the horses and lastly watching the world cup.
We went to Branson for Father’s Day weekend and spent part of the day driving back yesterday. We had such great fun!
This was a pretty low-key weekend and since I lost my dad a few years ago, I try not to dwell on this holiday too much. I like the way you guys spent yours though!
We were pretty low key. We did go out to dinner last night and it went well…which is always a success!
🙂 Sounds like a wonderful day together. 🙂 We had a pretty quiet stay at home type day.
That is so sweet. We did not do much, just a good meal and relaxing.
What great pictures, looks like a fun weekend!
What super fun photos you have! We went camping (our first camping trip EVER as a family – or even as a couple.) And we had friends over for dinner. It was a super-packed weekend.
We had a great Father’s Day as well! We relaxed all morning, headed to church, then the big boy and the hubs played putt-putt and we finished off the day eating outside at Melllow Mushroom in downtown Asheville. Good times!
We had some morning pancakes. And then a local mall has a huge model train display that we enjoyed. Glad you had a great Father’s Day!!
Sweet little family you have going on there! Looks like your hubby had a great day!
I cannot get over how adorable your family is. It looks as though you had a wonderful Father’s Day! Ours was great as well. I’m trying to get into Game Of Thrones once I am done with Once Upon A Time!
We were at an event but at least spent it together. I could go for that kind of southern breakfast!
Your hubby looks like he is enjoying his Father’s Day! Fun time!
Sounds like you all had a wonderful day! I like the photo of the three of you also!
Love that thumbs up! Looks like a great Father’s Day!
The family looks like they had a great day, we hung out at my sons with my mother and hubby and kids. My step Mother In Law came over as well. Good day.
Where in the world does one find a toilet made of gold?? I need one for my hubby! I loved biscuits with honey and butter when I was kid, now I’m craving them!
We didn’t take any pics either, but my hubs got the exact same thing your hubs did lol. I haven’t had honey butter biscuits in a very long time. I need to make them very soon now!
What a wonderful Father’s Day! Now I want an ice cream sandwich LOL!
Adorable! Looks like your husband had a wonderful Father’s Day!!
This father’s day was bitter sweet for me. I lost my stepfather back in December and sure was missing him yesterday. On a more upbeat note my Father had a heart attack a couple months ago and was saved and with a surgery is up and running as ususual. It was so good to have him here.
You guys are the cutest family! I sure it was a great Daddy’s Day!
How cute are your kids? I want to try oreo ice cream sandwiches….sounds like you guys had a great day!
What fun Father’s Day adventures! I love the bedtime story
