You know that tired feeling you get when you’re finally home from a vacation? That exhaustion that covers you so fully you need a few days to “recover” from your time away? It’s a real thing, especially when you come home from Disney. Alongside the need for a few extra hours of sleep, we are super sad to have left all that mouse magic behind us. It’s what you might call a Disney Hangover. Our family was lucky enough to be invited to Walt Disney World on a #DisneyKids trip, to hear all about how a Disney vacation is perfect for preschoolers and young families. It’s possible, even with short attention spans and long days – we’re proof of it!
Being a little over 5 months pregnant for the trip, I made sure to take it as easy as possible, hydrating constantly and making sure Red did the same. But there’s a lot of walking in the parks, to transportation and around the resorts. No strollers for pregnant ladies. 😉 Little ones need good sneakers, layered clothing and lots of rest time to get the most out of the parks. Staying on property can help ease fatigue with naps, less travel time to parks and more amenities, but be sure not to push yourself – it’s the fastest way to an exhausted toddler meltdown, and that’s no fun for anyone.
Once you get home, be sure to go to bed early. Despite our fabulous full night of sleep once we were home, I’m still exhausted. Red bounced back after one day, ready to take on new challenges and to tell everyone about his #DisneyKids experience. My husband only needed a day to get his feet back under him, but this preggo is still sleeping like a hibernating bear. Maybe I need a little extra pixie dust to get going again, or another fireworks viewing under Cinderella’s castle.
Red is asking every morning to go back to see Mickey, Goofy, Tinkerbell and “The Castle.” Hopefully, once our little bun-in-the-oven is old enough, we can go back and have a fabulous time together again. We’ll be sure to plan an extra day just for rest and pool time, along with some Disney magic folded in.
I can’t wait to post about all the tips I learned from our #DisneyKids trip for preschoolers and their families. I have so many awesome photos and experiences to share that you simply must do with your family! Stay tuned!

I LOVE hearing all about your trip to Disney World with your family! We live in California and have taken our son twice and he just love love loves it there. We’re hoping to take him to WDW sometime in the next few years too. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you so much! I have to wrap my head around everything we did – so much was crammed into four days, including travel!! I’ve only been to Disneyland once, when I was in high school, it’s very different from WDW, but awesome in it’s own right!

Sounds like an AMAZING trip! I firmly believe in taking little kids to Disney. My youngest was 2 months the first time he went! Kudos to you for going pregnant. I know that’s hard. Can’t wait to read more and see all your great pix!

I didn’t think it was hard until after we got back. I’m beyond exhausted, I can hardly fold laundry… it sounds ridiculous, I know!

What a gorgeous picture! I was around 5 months pregnant with my youngest on one trip, and it was a very different experience for me! My older 2 kids usually hit the wall around parade time every day and we would just spend the rest of the day at the pool or doing something equally relaxing! Glad you had a great time – can’t wait to hear about it! Thanks for linking up with us for #MagicalMonday!

I loved being “on vacation” with your family-so much fun! And recovering from a Disney vacation-nothing better-unless it’s planning for the next one
