Magnificent costumes, glistening lights, and quick tuned steps are the order of the evening. If you’re out for even more, you can immerse yourself in the Opening Weekend festivities, (performances starting Friday night, January 31st through Sunday, February 2nd) where they will have “Circus-to-go” performers in the Reception area an hour before curtain time, where as a patron, you can be entertained one on one! On Valentine’s Night, the 7pm performance offers an extra ticket add-on featuring a post-show INSIDE the ring where dessert is served and you can take photos with the performers in costume. These are VERY limited in availability – reserve in advance!
Big Apple Circus – LUMINOCITY
Disclosure: I received tickets for my family to see Luminocity in exchange for writing a publicity post for the sponsor.
It’s back! The circus is in town! Big Apple Circus is trumpeting its triumphant return to Alpharetta, GA from Jan. 30th to February 17th for its annual engagement at the Verizon Amphitheater with an all-new show, Luminocity.
In its 36th season, Big Apple is offering what some have called the finest close up circus in America. In one ring, you’re no more than 50 feet from the ringside, as trapeze walkers, performing pups, jugglers, a booming band and even classic rubeish clowns entertain and wow you.
Ringmaster John Kennedy Kane (above) guides you around the city of Gotham, as you witness flim flam, Russian acrobats, ponies and puppies, and sky high performances. If you are tentative about those little ponies and puppies performing, don’t be!! Big Apple maintains superb care for it’s animals and trainers. You can read more about it and release all your stress!
The Big Apple circus is a not-for-profit performing arts and outreach group, committed to celebrating the arts in local communities. Through various outreach programs such as Clown Care, Vaudeville Caravan and Circus After School, they are bringing magic to special audiences as well as in their acclaimed performances. How adorable. My boys are pretty experienced flyers at this point, but they still get super excited to fly. I love it.

I am so jealous! I used to live in Colorado and couldn’t get enough of the scenery and snow. Now I am back in sunny Florida and am dying to get outta here again. Your little guy is too cute for words!

Awwww that looks like such a fun trip! I wish it was snowing here in California!
Lindsey Paris says
I always loved seeing my boys and their excitement on a first trip, too! What a cutie! Yes though, seatbelts aren’t so fun. Car seats on the planer are a lifesaver, though! Then I didn’t have my kiddo bouncing all over the plane the whole flight.
Lindsey Paris says
Any of the shows with horses!
Lindsey Paris says
My favorite parts, too! I love the horses!
Lindsey Paris says
Our kids would SO get a kick out of the dogs and ponies!

Wow, that house is amazing! I love the style and it looks huge!! My 3 year old would probably have a similar reaction to flying as Red did – he hasn’t flown before but I cannot wait to get him on a plane.
Lindsey Paris says
What a sweet story! I love the wonder in a child’s eyes, now that our son is 10, that has been gone for awhile.
Enjoy it while you can!

Hope ya’ll had fun! That house is gorgeous! Any chance you took pics you could show of the inside? I love seeing old houses.
Lindsey Paris says
Ok now I am DYING to see inside that house, absolutely dying! What an amazing time! The snow there reminds me of how I felt when I drove up to Michigan for the holidays from North Carolina. A shock to the system for sure. (However, I did have the proper boots, lol).
Lindsey Paris says
the house is beautiful. I’d love to see how it’s decorated inside.
Lindsey Paris says
Traveling with kids is both fun and stressful at the same time! It looks like you guys had some fun times.
